Sasha Campbell is a beautiful, talented and academically gifted young person whose deteriorating mental health was not properly addressed nearly early enough.
It was the difficulty we had getting help for Sasha which inspired her mother Jordanna to start Fine Not Fine.
Sasha is getting help now, but getting her that help was a much harder struggle than it should have been.
Quite simply, it seems that young people’s mental health services are understaffed and underfunded.
The dedication and hard work of our NHS mental health professionals is not in question. But that dedication and hard work simply cannot stretch far enough to bridge this gap.
And that means that, far too often, young people’s mental health has deteriorated to a crisis point before they get the help they need.
