Welcome to Fine Not Fine

Young people's mental health: It's everybody's job

Who we are:

Fine Not Fine CIC is an organisation born out of a concern for young people’s mental health, particularly focused in our home area of West Suffolk.

What we do:

We started out with the simple aim of raising awareness, in the hope that we could help prompt action. We have now become involved in creating this action too.

Our primary aim is the provision of support services to young people in and around Bury St Edmunds, and their families, carers and other supporters.

See our Events page for more details of our upcoming events

Statement of intent

Nothing will change and our young people will continue to suffer until our society is able to accept that:
  • We are all vulnerable to poor mental health
  • We need to learn to spot the signs and seek help
  • Even people as clever, gifted and talented as Sasha can be affected

Our job, and your job:

Work with us to make a difference for our young people’s sake. We are taking action to:

  • Embed the idea that all of us have mental health; that poor mental health can affect anyone
  • Help destigmatise poor mental health and collaborate across professions, institutions and community to improve local services
  • reduce crises and the need for medical interventions by educating young people to become more emotionally literate; to recognise early warning signs that things aren’t right
  • Support young people by giving them the tools to safeguard their own mental health and that of others
